The findings show that all of the top ten favourite confectionery products in the UK are produced by American Manufacturers, including Nestlé, Mars Confectionery and Mondelēz International. Dairy Milk, owned by Mondelēz International, was listed as the top-selling product.
While chocolate is a popular mainstay for British consumers, fruit flavoured American candy is also widely enjoyed.
Craig Anderson, assistant manager of Hardy’s Original Sweetshop in Cambridge, said, “The most popular products that we sell have got to be Rainbow Nerds, Twinkies and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. We’re trying to get hold of Candy Corn because we keep getting requests for it.”
