Buy British Campaign Launched by NFU

  • A campaign aimed at spreading awareness and increasing sales of food produced in Britain has been launched by the National Farmers Association (NFU)

The project is getting as many farmers, growers and rural retailers it can to erect large banners on their land near roads and other prime locations which displays the hashtag #buybritish.

So far more than 200 people have backed the scheme.

Richard Cattell, head of marketing and communications for Red Tractor Assurance, said, “The banner campaign will enable us to tell the British public why it is important to trust the Red Tractor in an eye-catching and memorable way.

“Now more than ever it’s important to know the food you are buying comes from a trusted source.”

Farm shop owners who are members of the NFU can apply for a banner by emailing details of their proposed location to campaigns@nfu.org.uk.
