He will be working closely with founder and sales director, David Menendez, and executive chairman, Justin Slawson, former founder of The Cheese Cellar Company

Sheridan will be focusing on forward development of the fast-growing national business, which has ambitious plans both within the foodservice sector and potentially within retail markets.

Sheridan said, “Mevalco is renowned for the quality of its products and delivers an intensely personal service to its customers, based on sourcing new and inspirational products from Spain’s artisan producers.

“We are all about bringing fresh innovation to chefs’ menus here in the UK and I am delighted to be leading such a vibrant and exciting company that has a great future.”

A multilingual graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology, Martin spent the early part of his career managing hospitality businesses across Europe, Russia and the US before joining Compass Group, managing catering services for IBM and Wyeth Biopharma, before moving into an operations management role. Subsequent roles included country manager for Pelican Rouge and managing director of Layton Fern & Co (Ferns Coffee) which he successfully grew prior to its sale in 2015.
