  • Following the announcement that the royal wedding banquet will feature mainly British produce, buyers need to be thinking carefully about the anticipated demand for local specialities

To meet this interest, the team at Hawarden Estate Farm Shop in Flintshire has created a royal wedding hamper.

“We’ve collaborated with our sister company, Pedlars to create a super-cool royal wedding hamper packed full of the essential goods to celebrate and commemorate any royal occasion,” explains Alan Downes, owner of the shop.

Hampers are available for collection from the farm shop (28/04) or can be delivered for £10. The package contains a Pedlars’ Kate & Will Limited Edition Mug, a Pedlars’ Will & Kate Tea Towel and two Limited Edition Royal Gala Quail Egg Pork Pies.

In-line with the celebration, The British Cheese Board has specially developed the perfect royal wedding cheeseboard (featuring, amongst others, Stilton – the King of English cheeses), as part of a feature package.

For the ultimate cheeseboard, the Board suggest selecting between three and five cheeses of different types and textures, including hard (e.g. West Country Farmhouse Cheddar or Wensleydale), soft (e.g. Somerset Brie or Cornish Camembert) and blue (e.g. Stilton, Blue Lancashire, Shropshire Blue or Blue Wensleydale) cheeses. To top up the cheese board try to include a locally produced cheese as well.
