Rowcliffe Celebrates 50 Years of Success

The company still remains a family-ran operation with Anthony’s son, Tim Rowcliffe, at the helm. Rowcliffe continues to champion and nurture small producers from Europe and close to home.

The Kent-based company supplies retailers across the UK, and has further expanded its product offerings to include charcuterie, olives, vinegars, oils, butters and fish.

The company is set to mark its 50th birthday celebrations with several events organised for both customers and the Rowcliffe team. This milestone is marked firstly with a Rowcliffe Roadshow, where Tim Rowcliffe and board directors Jason Fisher and Jo Mason will be thanking customers and UK producers for their loyalty and support. The directors and area sales managers will be touring across the UK over several months visiting stores and producers.

There will also be team celebrations for the company’s dedicated staff, some of whom have been with the business for over 20 years. Many generations of families have worked at the business; most recently the team span across three generations. To show their appreciation, the directors will be serving their staff breakfast, with an evening event planned for afterwards.

Rowcliffe has also recently launched a refreshed corporate branding and logo to reflect the evolution of the company, as well as celebrating the roots of the business. The project included a new strapline, new typeface and category icons drawn by Jo Mason, a board director. The branding celebrates the heritage and embraces the confident future of the business.

Tim Rowcliffe, chairman of Rowcliffe said, “As a 15-year-old boy - 50 years ago - I can still remember my father had a vision for Rowcliffe. With just a car with a large boot and sheer dogged determination, he drove to France to seek the top-quality food and cheeses from farmhouse producers which were yet to be available in the UK. The essence of Rowcliffe hasn’t changed and we still uphold his ethos of buying the best products and selling at specialist places. I thank our customers and producers who have been part of Rowcliffe, and I am very proud of our successful 50 years! I love being able to continue my father’s vision. It doesn’t get any better than this!”
