Ocado Irish Shop Launched

The business has already brought speciality foods from France, Spain, Sweden and South Africa, and are expanding their international range in line with the large number of expatriate Irish inhabitants of the UK.

Gillian Swaine, Trade Marketing Specialist at Bord Bia, said: “Irish food brands offer exceptional quality and value and Bord Bia’s new partnership with Ocado will allow Irish expats to get a comforting taste of Ireland delivered to their front doors. The Irish living in Britain will no longer have to stock up on their favourite tea, sauces and fresh produce when they pop back to visit family and friends. For the first time, they will be able to find ambient and fresh products in the UK under one roof. They can simply log on to Ocado’s website, go to the Irish Shop and enjoy top Irish products every week. The Irish Shop will also act as a showcase for the best of Irish produce and provide a great introduction to our national produce for British consumers who may be unfamiliar with these terrific brands. We are confident that once they have tried Irish, they will want to stay with Irish produce. We are confident that the Irish Shop will help raise the profile of Irish produce and deliver wider recognition of the superb quality that is available.”

The shop is set to be launched on 20th November.
