Sweet Shop Shortlisted for BBC Award

Edward and Vintage, in Tissington, has received a nomination for Best Vintage Shop of the Year in the BBC Homes and Antiques Awards 2013.

It is competing against 25 other shops across the UK for the title, which is voted for by members of the public.

The shop focuses on supporting local cottage businesses, the latest of which produces flavoured fudge including peanut butter and sea salt caramel.

David Westcott-Walker, owner of Edward and Vintage, said, “It’s been a fantastic two years. The people of Derbyshire are so loyal and have been such a great support to the business. I could not have achieved it without their loyalty. We work with so many small independent businesses who truly make Edward and Vintage so special and the flavours so magical.

“It has always been my aim to support other local industries. Edward and Vintage now stocks locally-made fudge, chocolate, traditional sweets and ice cream, with much better flavours. We also promote a selection of cottage industry crafts and vintage gifts. It has been a great surprise to be nominated, and is a credit to my Derbyshire suppliers who provide us with such great quality products.”
